This was a PERFECT place to spend our second wedding anniversary. We can't say enough about the beauty of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. The beach club was a perfect place to spend the afternoons, and swimming in the pool was the only way to relax, after a day of relaxation. We highly recommend a "swim-up" room. The staff was amazing, and always had perfect suggestions for dining out and enjoying ourselves while in Playa del Carmen. We definately look forward to coming bcak next year.

We enjoyed spending our honeymoon at Hotel La Tortuga. We highly recommend for other honeymooners to stay in room 304. We loved looking at the stars while soaking in the private rooftop Jacuzzi. We also appreciate all of Julie's (front desk guest services) help with locating the best restaurants in town. Also, your ranchero breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay so much that we hope to save enough money to come back for a six month anniversary. Thank you......

We had a fabulous time at this great hotel. What can I say...ultra clean, safe, & convenient to everything. Our swim-up rooms were great, we used the pool day and night, very relaxing after a busy day. All the desk staff were exceptional, helping us with vacation plans changes secondary to "Hurricane Claudette"! Special thanks to Julie who helped us day after day with great excursion and dinner suggestions...she was 100%! We had such a nice stay and will recommend the hotel to all our close friends. What a fantastic hotel! Cozy, clean and charming with a warm and helpful staff. Great location and a terrific restaurant (The Agora). We had a junior suite with a private terrace and jacuzzi--absolutely breathtaking. Everyday we looked forward to the wonderfully constructed "towel animals" that the very attentive housekeeping staff provided. Their beach club, Mamita's, is superb and a short, pleasant walk from the Hotel. We whole-heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Playa.

Thank you for the lovely stay at Hotel La Tortuga, truly a gem of a small hotel. The aesthetics, ambiance and service made this a wonderful getaway in lively Playa Del Carmen. The room was spacious and lovely, the balcony wonderfully relaxing, and the poolside lounge was beautiful. The hotel's location made it convenient for all the shopping and dining of Playa's Avenida 5, yet it was removed just enough to give relief from the activity. The beach club was beautiful. The very excellent cappuccino, fresh orange juice, and warm croissants or eggs every morning were the perfect way to start a HOT day in Playa (late May 2003). We were impressed and touched by the personal, attentive service of Julie and Bernardo at the front desk - answering our myriad questions and giving terrific sightseeing and dining recommendations (including Agora). The charming, smiling housekeeping staff did a superb job of keeping things spotless, as well as entertaining us as toallas artistas. We would LOVE to return during a cold Midwest USA winter...hope to see you again, Gustavo!

I had such a wonderful time at La Tortuga. I think it's the sort of place all sorts of people can enjoy--families, couples, and so on--I was there on my own and felt safe and private and well taken care of. I'm hoping to bring my mother back this summer! Wonderful place, Mamita's beach club is perfect, the location is ideal, and it's quiet and relaxing. I'd recommend it to anyone. I felt I should do my part and leave a post. The staff was great rooms were superb the restaurant was right on target. Everyone went out of their way to make this a great stay. I do not think it could have been any better it was a great way to spend our twentieth wedding anniversary. Everything was just as advertised via the web page I highly recommend this hotel, if you are reading this post you can book with confidence the Hotel La Tortuga and staff are first rate, thumbs up !!!! We stayed at La Tortuga March 13 - 21. We absolutely loved this place. The location was great. The pool and Mamita's beach club were wonderful. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, you definitely felt like a guest! Our only regret was that we didn't have a swim-up room. Oh, well there is always next year - because we WILL be back! Thanks for a great vacation!

We really enjoyed our visit to La Tortuga from I would particularly like to tell you that we really appreciated the great service we received from Barbara Schmalz. She was very friendly and extremely helpful with tours and recommendations where to eat! I can not tell you how much we appreciated having such a great person to help us with all of our questions. The extra effort she put forward was definitely noticed and appreciated! She genuinely seemed to care about the guests and made and an extra effort to make them happy. In the other hotels that we stayed, the staff just didn't care about their guests at all and we would never recommend them to anyone. We will be recommending La Tortuga to our friends! I would also like to point out that the two young men serving breakfast at Agora were very friendly and nice! I regret that I do not know there names, but since their smiling faces were there to greet us every morning I am quite sure you know who they are! They were among the friendliest people we encountered in the restaurants during our stay. We wish La Tortuga much success!

Ola, I forgot to send you sooner but we were 4 ladies staying at La Tortuga from Jan 25 to Feb 1, 2003. Our stay was wonderful. The room was above expectation (we stayed in a Palapa room); clean, big and the roof top terrasse was a wonderful place to sip a drink or do my yoga every morning while looking at the view of the sun & the sea. The staff was so friendly, whether at the front desk or at the restaurant, everybody made us feel like family. The breakfast that was included with the room was well above par. I mean where do you get fresh bread, eggs and latte for free every morning ? Very far from your typical continental breakfast ! The beach club access was a definit plus; on the best stretch of beach; chairs and palapas for free... could not ask for more. You have definitly made our stay in Playa del Carmen complete and wonderfull. Woud recommend to anyone and will surely come back soon I hope ! Spread the word but keep us a room for next time !!!

Hi We spent 11 fantastic days in the hotel during Christmas 2002. Deninitely one of our best vacations.Room 305 with privat jacuzzi on the roof and the girls Palapa-room No.36 with the big top-balcony with hammock were just great.We miss it already.Free use of the Beach Club etc.Friendly service from Bernardo & Barbara (1 & 2) in the reseption to Daniel & Co in the restaurant.
